Assumptions again...

You ask people time and time again not to make assumptions. If they do it always results in a mistake. Then they accuse me of being a ‘difficult person’. You just can’t win.
To give you an example - sugar. When i used to drink coffee i got asked: “how many sugars do you want in it?” I have porage and it’s “do you want sugar on iit?” Toast is always “do you want jam on it? If i want something i’ll ask for it. It’s not exactly an assumption they make but it’s still annoying as hell when you hear it.

The door is left wide open. They come in but as they are leaving they ask you if you want the door closing. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Why have it closed when you keep it open for a reason.?

    1. You could say “take it with a pinch of salt” but i’ve Banned that too.

  3. Hey There, I agree that some assumptions are out of order and unnecessary, but I think some may just want to be polite. Hugs and hope you're doing well. RO

    1. I’m doing okay thanks. I guess that being deprived of sugar is having negative issues as well as positive ones.

  4. Sorry, Terry, but what if you DID decide you wanted sugar or jam and they didn't ask? How would you tell them? They can't read your mind. I agree with the others who say the carers are trying to be polite and helpful. I do see how it would grate on you after the first few times, though!

    1. Jenny, you have to understand that I don’t ever want sugar or jam again. The carers help me to stick to my objectives. I appreciate that. I once gave up smoking for 6 years. Why I ever started again I don’t know. Determination I guess. The carers are brilliant people. They know that. I’m having a rough time without sugar I guess. Ican’t give inthough.

  5. I haven't been around in a long time and maybe I should not comment but since I'm here, I'll brave it and say that the carers are trying their best. It can't be easy for them either to have to guess what you
and everybody else wants. They have their problems too. Try to be nice to them and see what happens. I don't blame you for not wanting sugar in your tea, yuck! Sugar is also bad for the memory amongst other things...

    1. Hi Julia, i’ve missed you. Sugar is indeed bad for the memory. I have a good relationship with the carers. They are a good laugh most of the time and see me as a bit of a challenge although I don’tmean to be. I just want to stop eating sugar.

  6. I think most people are just trying to be helpful. It's not a deliberate effort to be annoying even though it does feel that way sometimes!
